St Hilary Neighbourhood plan

The Neighbourhood Development Plan gives the parish community direct power to develop a shared vision of their neighbourhood. To have a say and help shape the growth and development, to help protect areas of significant interest and beauty, to say where and what any development should look like.

The process of creating our Neighbourhood Plan has been led by dedicated members of our community led by Parish Council who formed the Steering Group. The finished plan is  developed as part of the Government’s revised approach to planning through the Localism Act of 2011. Our plan will feed directly into the National Planning Policy Framework.

St Hilary’s Plan is to ensure that any future growth and development is shaped to protect the unique character of both rural and coastal communities. This will cover the following objectives – Our environment, people and housing, renewable energy ,transport, business and jobs, education, leisure and entertainment.

Neighbourhood planning provides the opportunity for communities to set out a positive vision for how they want their community to develop over the next 10, 15, 20 years in ways that meet identified local need and make sense for local people. They can put in place planning policies that will help deliver that vision or grant planning permission for the development they want to see.
